Sunday Star’s assistant editor bags award

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunday Star assistant editor Hariati Azizan (pic) has been named as one of three recipients for the Award of Excellence from the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry for her articles on the dangers of cosmetic contact lenses.

Her reports, “Risking their eye health” and “Optometrists: Youngsters not seeing the dangers of cosmetic lenses” published on Feb 8 this year, raised concern about cosmetic contact lenses being sold by unlicensed vendors.
