Steady climb on world’s young universities ranking

MALAYSIAN universities are making a steady climb on the world’s young universities ranking ladder. In the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2019 list, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia both moved up from 151-200 last year to 101-150. A total of 10 Malaysian universities, public and private, were included in THE’s list.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman and Universiti Sains Malaysia maintained their ranks at 101-150, while Universiti Putra Malaysia dropped from 151-200 in 2018 to 201-250. UTP will continue to emphasise strategies leading towards academic leadership, research stewardship, students’ experience and operational excellence in its quest to become globally prominent, the varsity’s vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib said in a statement.
