ABOUT six trees toppled along Jalan Bangi Lama in Semenyih, Selangor, at about 6 pm on Thursday (May 23) during a downpour.

Dusun Tua assemblyman and Semenyih constituency coordinator Datuk Johan Abd Aziz said the trees were swiftly removed by the authorities and local men, but the incident has frightened motorists.

“There are many other big trees along the road.

“I hope the authorities can inspect the health of the trees along both sides of the road and cut down those at risk of collapsing.

“I am not sure if the fallen trees damaged any vehicles.

“But I heard that a fallen tree damaged a house in a village nearby,” he said.

He also said the downpour caused floods at Kampung Batu 5 and Kampung Rinching.
