VINO Vino Bistro in Penang is the place to find all the best juices of the vines.

The establishment in Bay Avenue near Queensbay Mall in Penang has done away with its Japanese food offerings and now focuses on the retail of wines.

With over 250 labels available, there is something for every wine lover — be they connoisseurs with a high-end taste or those just developing an appreciation for wine.

The bistro’s floor-to-ceiling racks are stocked full of vintages from France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa and United States (California).

Pop open a bottle or two and enjoy them alongside snacks from the new menu such as Sauteed Mushrooms, Sauteed Chicken or Nachos.

The Cheese Board, Fried Soft Shelled Crab, Grilled Stingray Fin and Grilled Squid are also ideal to pop in the mouth in between sips.

For something more filling, there are Chef’s Specials like Salted Egg Chicken, Meatball with Coulis, Quesadilla Chicken, Pork Bacon Cabonara and Aglio E Olio pastas.

Ham, sausages and fine beef items will be introduced in the near future.

All are meant to enhance the wine drinking experience.

Keep a lookout for house wine promos at RM15 by the glass or RM39 for a caraffe (equivalent to three glasses). Selected bottles are also offered at RM30 or 33% off.

Wine glasses and decanters are available too.

Completing offerings here are Caorunn gin, Chinese rice wines, sakes and soju.

Upstairs, a plush new lounge is great for meet-ups and private events.
