EDEN Handicap Service Centre hopes to raise RM250,000 through its charity food fair on April 22 at the Caring Society Complex in Jalan Utama, Penang.

Its manager Lee Sin Kok said proceeds from the fair would be used to fund the centre’s free services that benefit the disabled.

The fair, to be held from 9am to 2pm, will feature 100 stalls selling an array of home-cooked food, hawker fare and souvenirs as well as stage performance and games.

“Our monthly expenditure amounts to about RM90,000 needed to provide services to about 160 people with disabilities.

“Keeping our expenses within budget has always been a challenge,” he said.

“We hope the public will support us,” he added during a press conference at the centre’s children hostel in Jalan Taylor on Friday.

Also present was Eden Handicap Service Centre general manager Bertie Tye.

In support of the ‘Go Green’ movement, Lee urged the public to bring their own tiffin carriers and containers to promote environment care.

Each booklet is priced at RM20 and available at the Eden office in the complex and at the centre in Jalan Sir Hussein.
