Johnny Bravo Goes To Bollywood

The original series on Cartoon Network started off as a very funny show, but gradually lost its charm. So the premise of this TV movie is somewhat metatextual.

American Idol S14

Star World, Astro Ch 711/HD Ch 722, 6pm

This popular talent-search reality show returns for its 14th season. Also back are the regular judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. The inclusion of Connick in the judging panel has been a really good thing for the show.

A child prodigy, Connick brings his formal jazz expertise to the show, resulting in some very interesting finalist choices. The show certainly has been different since he came on. There is less caterwauling and monotonous vocal acrobatics and more individual talent on display.

The Tigers

Before the influential Hong Kong thriller Infernal Affairs, Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu-wai teamed up for this action-packed flick about police corruption. They play two cops in a team of five detectives caught in a web of deceit. When a drug bust reveals that a relative of one cop is involved, the others find themselves being bought off to stay silent. But being on the take has its consequences.

The crime syndicate that gave them the cash wants their money’s worth in “favours”. It’s not long before things come to a head.

This British drama stars Tom Hardy, who received much acclaim for his performance here. He plays Ivan Locke, a construction worker with a secret past. During an important construction project, Locke receives a phone call that will change his life. Quite simply, the villagers stay out of the forest and the creatures stay out of the village. But one day a young villager named Lucius heads into the woods to get medical supplies from the nearby towns, and the pact is broken.

The mysterious creatures once again invade the village. But all is not what it seems. Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Joaquin Phoenix and Adrien Brody.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2
