PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Philippines Inc has emerged as the only bidder eligible for the five-year lease of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lottery system through its subsidiary Philippine Gaming Management Corp (PGMC).
Berjaya Sports Toto Bhd , which is the parent company of Berjaya Philippines, said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that PGMC was one of only two bidders for the contract.
PGMC was the only one declared eligible, subject to evaluation and approval by the state-owned PCSO.
“Being the only one declared eligible, only PGMC’s financial bid was opened,” it said. The bid is for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
