Time to learn from BN’s mistakes

As its honeymoon year draws to a close, the Pakatan Harapan government needs to summon the political will and courage to do more of what is right and what is just and start fulfilling its promise of change and to make life better for all.

Positive change: Tengku Maimun has been appointed as the country’s first woman Chief Justice, and probably a first in the Muslim world too.

Whither gender equality?

What is needed is political will and political courage from our new leaders to stand on principles and lead the Muslim world into the 21st century.

Music to the ears

EVERYDAY I wake up in this new Malaysia, thankful for the courage of Malaysians to bring about change. I am beginning to watch local TV news, discovering local hosts and learning more about the newly-elected MPs, and being most impressed by the fluency of DAP Ministers and MPs speaking in the national language.

Commendable: It’s good that the youngest Minister ever, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is open to learning from and working with his predecessor, former Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, seen here with their respective deputies Steven Sim and Datuk M. Saravanan.

Change, finally! Blame thyself, Umno?

It may have been a shock win for Pakatan Harapan in the recent election, but the writing has been on the wall for Barisan Nasional for more than a decade.

Inevitable change: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announcing his resignation when Barisan lost GE14 after the people rejected the corrupt practices of some of the Barisan politicians.

Doing right by women

A political will is needed to treat women in a just and fair manner.
