World Bank praise Cambodia's remarkable economic progress and identifies areas for more growth in country


PHNOM PENH (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Amid global economic uncertainty and ongoing geopolitical competition, the World Bank’s economists have identified four key areas for local governments to address, crucial for sustaining growth and achieving Cambodia’s goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030.

Sebastian Eckardt, practice manager for Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment in the East Asia and Pacific Region at the World Bank, and Faya Hayati, senior economist for Cambodia at the bank, said the Kingdom has shown remarkable progress over recent decades.
