China’s agriculture ministry has sent teams to three provinces to investigate suspected cases of machinery subsidy fraud, opening up a new front in Beijing’s anti-corruption campaign in the grain industry.
Beijing paid out 21.2 billion yuan (US$3 billion) to help farmers buy machinery last year in a bigger plan to stabilise agricultural production.
