Hong Kong will have a record 410,000 new public flats over the coming decade, resulting in a shorter waiting time for applicants, and more will be done to ensure a larger supply of private homes on the market, city leader John Lee Ka-chiu has said.
The projected public housing supply would be a third more than the estimated demand of 308,000 homes, and the highest since 2014 when the government began revealing the annual numbers.
