Painting the real situation

I WAS compelled to share my opinion after reading the article “Housemen in long wait for MO posts” (The Star, Aug 22). The biggest fallacy perpetuated in Malaysia at the moment is that we have too many doctors. But the actual fact is there are not many posts in government service.

To understand the current situation, we must understand how government service works in this country. Malaysia is unique in the sense that the main burden of healthcare is handled by public hospitals which are paid for by the Government.
