Curb cruelty through awareness

I REFER to Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye’s letter “Set up animal welfare board to raise awareness” (The Star, April 19). I really appreciate Tan Sri’s numerous efforts to create awareness on animal welfare even though they seem to fall on deaf ears. Even the Animal Welfare Act 2015, which was passed by Parliament last year, has not been implemented yet. How long do we need to wait for this?

Daily, animals (especially dogs) are abused in unimaginable ways by locals as well as foreigners.
