Review all ministry procurement measures

I REFER to the letter “Give more doctors chance to be specialists” (The Star, March 22), which left me both amused and bewildered. I suspect (and I stand to be corrected) that many high-ranking decision-makers at the Health Ministry do not really know how to prioritise or to differentiate what is critical, crucial and are real needs from secondary needs and non-critical expenditure.

Our government hospitals and health clinics (Klinik Kesihatan) all over the country are always crowded and bursting at the seams. Due to this age-old situation, the poor rakyat and taxpayers have to wait for hours to be attended to.
