Man found drowned in Port Dickson hotel pool

PORT DICKSON: A 22-year-old man has been found drowned at a hotel pool in Tanjung Tuan near here.

Port Dickson police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said S. Sharitharan Naidu and a friend, who were both staying at the hotel, went to the pool for a swim at around 1am on Sunday (Oct 3) morning.

"A short while later, the friend walked away to answer a phone call.

"When he returned, he could not find the victim," he said in a statement.

Supt Aidi Sham said the friend then saw Sharitharan lying motionless in the pool.

He said a medical team which arrived a short while later pronounced the victim dead.

Sharitharan's body was taken to Port Dickson Hospital for a post-mortem.

Supt Aidi Sham said police did not find any criminal element in the case and have classified it as sudden death.
