PUTRAJAYA: Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran has come to the defence of one of his senior aides implicated in an extra-marital affair.

"That is an old story which is more than two years old.

"There is a police report and the police are investigating," he told reporters at a press conference, after launching the World Day Against Child Labour 2018 here on Thursday (Sept 13).

Asked if any action would be taken against the officer, Kulasegaran said no, as police investigations were still ongoing.

"Let the police investigate and take action," he said, adding that there had been no word from the police on the status of their investigations.

He indicated that a fake account may be behind why the issue went viral on social media.

Kulasegaran was asked to comment on the issue surrounding a picture resembling his senior aide in a compromising position with an unidentified woman in bed.

The picture was posted on social media, purportedly by a woman claiming to be his wife.

In the post written in Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia, the woman warned other women about the man.

"Today, I want to give a reminder to all the women who want to approach my husband.

"I am used to such a situation. To all the women, don't hope that my husband will divorce me to be with you," read the post.

The message and the photo came barely two days after an aide to Deputy Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman was sacked and put under police investigation for allegedly taking an upskirt video of a woman.
