Well done: Mohd Anuar presenting the Petronas award to Hann Hsen. Also present are Petronas Group Human Resource Management senior vice-president Datuk Dr Raiha Azni Abdul Rahman and Hann Hsen’s mother Diong Hoe King.

SERI ISKANDAR: Despite being diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy when he was seven, Tan Hann Hsen never lost hope and fought on to do well in school.

The 18-year-old SMK Seafield student from Subang scored eight A+ and one A- in his SPM and was one of 353 students nationwide to receive the Petronas Education Sponsorship Programme Award during a presentation ceremony at the Universiti Teknologi Petronas here yesterday.
