MACC laments low graft-reporting rate among civil servants

ALOR SETAR: Corruption among civil servants in Malaysia is at a critical level, but only 214 of the 1.6 million government employees have made reports since 2011, says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

MACC deputy chief commissioner (prevention) Datuk Shamshun Baharin Mohd Jamil said between 2014 and 2016, a total of 2,329 cases were investigated by MACC and 1,088 cases or 46% involved civil servants.
