Two brothers killed in collision with another car


GOPENG: Two siblings were killed when the car they were in collided with another along Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur near Taman Changkat here.

Kampar OCPD Supt Ng Kong Soon said Daniel Martin, 21, and his brother Desmand, 18, both from Kampar, died on the spot from serious injuries at KM17 of the stretch at about 3.30pm yesterday.

Their parents R. Eruthaya Nathan, 49, and C. Philomena, 44, sustained light injuries and were being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh.

“The driver of the other car, aged 19, was unhurt,” he said.

The driver has been identified as Law Hao Lin from Ipoh.

Supt Ng said initial investigations showed the car driven by Eruthaya had swerved onto the opposite lane before crashing into Law’s car.

In Petaling Jaya, a bus rammed into the back of five cars during a traffic jam causing a six-vehicle pile - up on the Federal Highway.

In the 4.45pm incident yesterday, the driver of a Rapid KL bus lost control of the vehicle before ramming into the stationary cars during rush hour traffic at KM5.4 of the highway.

City traffic chief Asst Comm Mohd Nadzri Hussain said no one was injured in the incident.
