Expanding the party’s voter base


Full support: MCA delegates voting to amend the party constitution at the recent AGM to enable some 32,000 divisional delegates to pick the central leadership in the future.

ON Nov 12, the central delegates of MCA had a show of hands to decide on the amendments to the party’s constitution that would see the electoral base of party elections expand.

All but one of the 1,801 attendees at the party’s 63rd annual general meeting at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur voted in favour of the amendments, paving the way for some 32,000 divisional delegates to pick the future central leadership.
