Remand extended for Sabah 'watergate' suspects

KOTA KINABALU: Graft investigators have been given more time to quiz senior engineers in the ongoing probe into allegations of massive corruption in the Sabah Water Department.

Magistrate's courts in Tawau and Lahad Datu allowed for four of the 22 engineers and technicians arrested on Oct 21 to be remanded for another five days as investigators narrow down details on how large sums of money were siphoned from RM3.3bil in federal allocations for water since 2010.
