ECOWORLD has been at the forefront during the recent #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2016. The idea was first mooted last year and EcoWorld approached Star Media Group to work with it on the campaign.
The whole idea was to create a movement, getting Malaysians from all walks of life to stand united to honour the National Day and Malaysia Day.
EcoWorld came up with the idea of a wristband that it could get as many Malaysians to put on, take photos and share, in celebration of Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day.
In total, EcoWorld and The Star distributed 500,000 pieces of the wristband all over the country, including Sabah and Sarawak.
It was a successful campaign and a sure sign for EcoWorld to continue with the#AnakAnakMalaysia (AAM) campaign.
This year, when Star Media Group held the Walk with EcoWorld, it was an opportunity for the homegrown, truly Malaysian company as it was looking for fresh ideas and ways to celebrate with the nation.
There was no doubt that AAM was planned to be bigger and better this year.
It is not easy to find another organisation that shares the same objectives – a common goal of promoting unity, harmony and tolerance – that have been brought to life with the #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign and enhanced with the AAM Walk.
This year, EcoWorld is distributing one million wristbands nationwide.
Since the #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk 2016, EcoWorld has continued with its efforts to promote the campaign by running many exciting activities and events at various EcoWorld Galleries in the Klang Valley, Penang and Iskandar Malaysia.
The activities include cultural dances, from the Orang Asli, Iban and Kadazan peoples, wau and mural painting and even efforts to paint the biggest batik piece in Malaysia, which took place on Sept 11 at Eco Business Park I, Johor.
The batik painting showcased unique designs – the Chinese knot motif, Malay butterfly motif and the Indian lotus motif – that combine seamlessly and best demonstrate the harmonious Malaysian society we have despite being a country with diverse cultures and beliefs.
It qualifies to enter The Malaysia Book of Records as the largest batik painting at 25m by 25m.
On top of that, EcoWorld has also organised two mini #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk events at its project sites in Iskandar Malaysia (Eco Tropics and Eco Spring) with both walks attracting thousands of participants.
It also garnered over 33,000 #AnakAnakMalaysia posts on the Internet.
EcoWorld noticed many people hashtagging #AnakAnakMalaysia and showing their support for the campaign by sharing their photos on www.anakanakmalaysia.com website.
Such strong responses from fellow Malaysians were certainly encouraging and EcoWorld welcomes more social media interaction.
Through this campaign, the company has come across many interesting, inspiring stories, which show that Malaysians can come together as one to celebrate the nation.
EcoWorld has grown rapidly – with 18 projects in the three important growth regions of the Klang Valley, Penang and Iskandar Malaysia.
It has also successfully ventured into the international real estate scene with projects in London and Sydney.
It managed to achieve that much in a short span of three years, thanks largely to its unwavering focus on its vision of “Creating Tomorrow and Beyond”.
It has crafted sustainable and meaningful environments for the present and future generations – be that in its property developments, within its organisation or in the communities it engages with.
With that, EcoWorld has been active on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) front and most of its efforts are channelled through its CSR arm, the Eco World Foundation, which helps underprivileged Malaysians from all walks of life.
The #AnakAnakMalaysia campaign is aligned with EcoWorld’s desire to create a positive impact – a simple wristband to band Malaysians together, regardless of race, religion, age and gender.
EcoWorld embraces diversity and inclusivity in its business and workforce – this is how it has managed to grow so fast.
It believes the same goes for the country – that diversity gives the nation strength and only if the nation is united can Malaysia excel.
