Liow: Together, we can make Malaysia thrive

PETALING JAYA: The diversity of Malaysians will always be the nation’s greatest strength, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pic).

“Our diversity will always be our greatest strength, more so when we come together over a common bond.

“Let us all seek to embrace the core values of National Day and Malaysia as we mark this important day.

“Moderation, tolerance, acceptance are the foundation of our Rakyat’s sikap bertolak-ansur (give and take attitude), both now and in the years to come,” Liow said in his National Day message.

Liow, who is MCA president, said Malaysia has come a long way and made great progress over the decades as a multiracial and multicultural nation.

“Through it all, our founding fathers’ spirit of resilience, courage and unity have underscored our accomplishments, while helping us stay the course in the face of challenges,” said Liow.

He said that this same drive for success was evident in Malaysia’s Olympic athletes.

“They demonstrated sheer determination and grit in the sporting arena.

“Similarly, our unity was clear when we as a nation rallied behind our athletes to cheer them on with one voice.

“This is testament to the strength of the ties between every Malaysian citizen,” said Liow.

He urged Malaysians to take inspiration from the successes of the Malaysian contingent which brought back five Olympic medals.

“As we celebrate their efforts, let us take inspiration from this significant feat.

“Our individual achievements, put together, collectively form the foundation of the continued development of our beloved nation. We can each in our own way contribute to making Malaysia thrive,” said Liow.
