Squatter houses razed in fire

In ruins: The houses destroyed by fire at Kg Titingan Darat.

TAWAU: A woman kicked open the door to her children’s bedroom to save them from a fire which destroyed more than 300 squatter houses here early yesterday.

Sinab Umar, 48, said she was awakened at about 1.30am by shouts of “Fire! Fire!” and her first thought was of her children.
