KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale struck in the Vanuatu Islands region at 4.23pm Sunday.
According to a statement issued by the Meteorological Department, the epicentre was 425km from Lata, Solomon Islands, 5,720 km southeast of Semporna, Sabah.
