Tongue-cut boy: I want to go to my village

KLANG: The eight-year-old boy who was forced to cut his own tongue in a bullying incident at a school, does not want to face his bullies again and wants to attend school elsewhere.

The boy’s mother, 28-year-old Siti Nurhuda Ibrahim said she and her husband, Alias Abdullah, 34, had thought of transferring their eldest son to another school several months ago when he complained that he was unhappy at school.

“At first, we thought that it was only some small conflicts with other schoolmates that is rather normal at school. So we sat on the matter.

“However, after this incident, we are really going to move him out,” she said at her home at Bukit Tinggi.

Last Thursday, the Year Two boy claimed he was forced to cut the tip of his own tongue with a pair of scissors after he was bullied into doing so by five Year Three boys from the same school, and received a stitch as a result of the incident.

Asked if he wanted to go back to his school and attend classes, the bubbly boy briefly said: “Nak sekolah di kampung (I want to go to school in my village)”, referring to his mother’s hometown in Tumpat, Kelantan, to be taken care of by Siti Nurhada’s mother.

“It may be better if we have a close relative to keep an eye on our son,” Alias said.

Meanwhile, South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Azman Abdul Razak said investigations would be completed within this week, citing a longer probe period due to the delicate situation involved in this case.

“We want to find out more on how this happened and also the allegation that the boy had been bullied by the group of boys earlier.

He added that this was the first case in Klang involving suspects who are below 10 years of age.
