Tycoon’s ex-wife wants mutaah amount upped to RM100mil


Sarawak governor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmuds former daughter in law, Shahnaz Abdul Majid, 53 has been awarded RM30mil in mutaah claim by the Syariah High Court.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Gover­nor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud’s former daughter-in-law has filed a notice of cross appeal against the RM30mil mutaah (conciliatory gift) claim awarded by the Syariah High Court here.

Shahnaz A. Majid (pic), 53, filed the notice via her Syarie lawyers Dr Rafie Mohd Shafiee and Datuk Akbardin Abdul Kader at the Syariah High Court registry yesterday.
