HeiTech Padu bags RM75.2mil solar power-related deal

KUALA LUMPUR: Heitech Padu Bhd’s 51%-owned subsidiary Duta Technic Sdn Bhd has clinched three contracts worth RM75.16mil to build high voltage interconnection facilities in the country for Norway-based solar energy provider Scatec Solar ASA.

The facilities are for 3x50 MW solar power plants in Gurun (Kedah), Jasin (Melaka) and Merchang (Terengganu), the information technology company informed Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday.

The projects, awarded by Scatec’s local unit Scatec Solar Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd, involve engineering design (covering civil and structural works and high voltage electrical equipment) as well as installation of underground cables and overhead transmission lines.

The “final acceptance” of the project is by Jan 31, 2018, HeiTech Padu said.

Oslo-headquartered Scatec Solar  teamed up in December 2016 with a consortium led by Itramas Corp Sdn Bhd, which had secured 21-year power purchase agreements with Tenaga Nasional Bhd. The three plants being built were said to cost RM1.23bil.
