PUTRAJAYA: Most Felda settlers are optimistic that there will be a positive outcome to the Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) crisis, according to Tan Sri Shahrir Samad.

The Felda chairman said based on feedback from the ground, he believed that most Felda settlers only wanted the best out of the FGV crisis.

“Most settlers want to see that the process FGV is undergoing to resolve its crisis, such as the change in the FGV chairmanship, will lead to a better FGV.

“They want to see the crisis resolved through good governance so that FGV can shift its focus towards making profits and improving its financial performance as soon as possible.

“Many are hopeful and optimistic of a happy ending to this crisis,” Shahrir told a press conference here yesterday.

Shahrir also gave an assurance that the crisis wiould not affect the livelihoods of the settlers, as investors and shareholders of FGV.

“With a new management and a good outcome to the ongoing inquiry, the investment made by the settlers will be safe and secure.

“This is also the hope for us at Felda, as the parent to FGV. We want to see a good outcome to all of this,” he said.

Also present was Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim.
