PETALING JAYA: Bayern Munich may have relinquished their Champions League crown, but that won’t stop three young talents from Malaysia the chance of a lifetime experience at the Allianz Arena.

Chief executive officer Jens Reisch said that Allianz Malaysia Berhad is committed to the third edition of the Allianz Junior Football Camp despite Bayern’s 4-0 thrashing by Real Madrid in the return-leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

“It may not have been the best of news for Bayern Munich but take nothing away from the club. This five-day football camp will reach out to more teenagers and provide them with a chance to experience football at a top professional club in the world,” said Reisch at the launch yesterday.

He said that since the introduction of Allianz Junior Football Camp in 2012, five lucky boys have been sent to Bayern Munich. They are Damien Lim and Luveen Vishnu in 2012; and S. Thipanraj, Farid Ashraf Kamaruzaman and Mohd Syawal Rosman last year.

Reisch said that this time more Malaysian youngsters will be exposed to a higher level of football. The top three participants of the camp will be sent to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich from Aug 20-25 while nine others will attend the Allianz Asian Camp in Bali from Aug 1-4.

This opportunity is open to all Malaysians aged between 14 and 16 years old. All they have to do is showcase their talents at the Padang SUK in Shah Alam on June 6-7.

The selection panel includes former national coach B. Sathianathan and former Selangor stars Rusdi Suparman and Shahrin Majid.

Those keen to attend the trials can register at Allianz Malaysia’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/AllianzMalaysia. Registration closes on May 31.
