Villagers launch campaign to free hornbill

KUCHING: Residents of Bario in the Kelabit highlands are staging a “Free Willy” like campaign to free an animal they say should never have been caged.

Turo the hornbill, raised by longhouse residents after it was found in a river five years ago, was captured on Aug 23 by the Sarawak Forestry Corporation, the state agency responsible for wildlife and national parks.
