Foundation to gather Asean business leaders

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia Foundation is organising “Destination: GOOD – ASEAN Social Enterprise”, an event that combines a conference and a marketplace featuring top entrepreneurs and innovative social enterprises from around the region.

Tickets for the one-day event on Nov 7 in Kuala Lumpur are now on sale.

It aims to discuss the future of entrepreneurship in Asean and how big businesses and social enterprises play a role in making economic systems more equitable, sustainable and inclusive.

The foundation is organising the event in partnership with ThinkCity and MaGIC Social Entrepreneurship to mark the coming into force of the Asean Economic Community and Malaysia’s chairmanship of Asean.

“AirAsia has always been about greater Asean integration. This time, we are bringing people together to talk about entrepreneurship and how it can be applied to address social challenges in our region,” said AirAsia Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes in a statement yesterday.

The morning session of the conference features a panel discussion on inclusive business by Fernandes and prominent Asean business leaders, including Eu Yan Sang International Ltd Group CEO Richard Eu from Singapore, Sintesa Group CEO Shinta Kamdani from Indonesia and Premier Group CEO Vichien Phongsathorn from Thailand.

During the afternoon session, AirAsia Foundation will present 30 innovative Asean social enterprises in a marketplace hall.

“Destination: GOOD – ASEAN Social Enterprise” will also have a closed-door workshop from Nov 8-9 to provide social entrepreneurs with tools and ideas to grow their businesses.

Tickets are available from airasiaredtix.com at three tiers: RM80 (conference and marketplace), RM50 (student) and RM10 (marketplace only).
