IPOH: Nine passengers cheated death when the express bus they were travelling in crashed into a 10-tonne lorry at KM304.1 of the North-South Expressway.
However, the 54-year-old bus driver, Mansor Shaari, from Alor Setar, died on the spot in the 5.55am incident near Gua Tempurung in Kampar.
The driver of the lorry, which was carrying ceramics, and the nine passengers were treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for light injuries.
Kampar OCPD Supt Ng Kong Soon said the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and collided into the back of the lorry, which was on the left side of the lane.
“Both the bus and the lorry were badly damaged,” he said.
