KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister Datuk Seri S Subramaniam has lambasted the Russian and Ukrainian authorities for not giving the SMART team enough support.
"I am angry that our SMART (Special Malaysian Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team) team is not getting the necessary support and access to the crash site to assist in recovery operations," he said in a strongly-worded statement he posted to his Facebook page Sunday.
"Ukrainian and Russian authorities owe it to us to provide support for our safe participation," said Subramaniam.
He condemned any interference by pro-Russian rebels who are denying entry to the crash site.
"As a nation we will show our resolve to get to the bottom of this and seek justice for the global community who were victims of this criminal act of aggression," he said.
