KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Customs director Datuk Dr Janathan Kandok suffered losses of about RM70,000, including a departmental vehicle, when his house in Taman Ujana Kingfisher, here was burgled early Friday.
During the incident, Janathan and his family were sleeping. His maid discovered the burglary at about 3am.
Janathan then lodged a report at the Inanam police station at about 7.50am.
Among the items that were stolen was a Proton Inspira car, a laptop computer, and an iPad.
Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP Jauteh Dikun confirmed the incident.
"Police also found a PVC pipe which had been broken near the door and believed to have been used by the burglars to enter the house," he said.
ACP Jauteh said no arrests had been made and the police were looking at various angles.
He said the police did not discount the possibility that the culprits were more than one person.
