TELUK INTAN: There will be no turning back if PAS’ hudud is implemented in the country, Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong said.
“Most people think the issue was resolved after they (PAS) decided not to table the Private Bill in Parliament but it is not. In September, they will try to table it again,” he said after visiting the Jalan Woo Saik Hong morning market here on Tuesday.
The Barisan Nasional candidate for the upcoming Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election stressed that Gerakan would continue to work hard and explain to the people about PAS’ plan to implement hudud in Kelantan.
“If PAS’ hudud is implemented in Kelantan, other states will follow,” he said.
Mah also noted that the DAP and other Pakatan Rakyat component parties have totally blacked out the issue from their ceramahs.
“When they held a ceramah before nomination day at a PAS stronghold in Kampung Bahagia, there were no mentions of PAS’ hudud,” he said.
Mah is up against DAP’s Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud, the political-secretary to Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang, in the upcoming by-election set for May 31.
The Teluk Intan parliamentary seat fell left vacant following the death of its incumbent, DAP’s Seah Leong Peng, from cancer earlier this month.
