PETALING JAYA: The search area for Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 has been moved about 1,100km to the north-east, based on findings that the aircraft flew faster than previously indicated.

Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, during a press conference on Thursday, said new information which indicated that the plane flew at a higher speed than initially thought led to the refinement of the search area.
