Azmin confirms he received PKNS board termination letter

PETALING JAYA: PKR deputy president Azmin Ali confirmed on Saturday he received a letter on the termination of his Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) board seat.

However, Azmin declined to elaborate on the reasons why he was dropped.

It is also understood that he has returned the official car provided to PKNS board members.

State Mentri Besar and PKNS chairman Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, with whom Azmin has a strained relationship, is said to have made the decision not to reappoint the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman and Gombak MP to the PKNS board.

This move was an attempt to "clip Azmin's wings" just before the PKR party polls in February or March, said a source.

PKNS is one of the state's biggest sources of income through property development and investment.

Azmin, a career politician, is known to have avid ambitions for the mentri besar position in Selangor.
