Many groups question if rules can be enforced


PETALING JAYA: While consumer and anti-tobacco groups appreciate the tough action against consumers of illicit cigarettes, many wonder if the new regulations are practical and enforceable.

Fomca deputy president Muhammad Sha’ani Abdullah said the Health Ministry was ill-prepared to enforce the regulations as they did not have sufficient manpower to nab buyers of illicit cigarettes.
