Pandora introduces Pandora Modes. — AFP Relaxnews

On March 19, Pandora launched Pandora Modes, a feature which allows listeners to choose between different styles of music streaming.

Pandora is introducing users to a new way – actually, five new ways – to discover music: Pandora Modes gives users the choice to select from different styles of music curation.

By default, Pandora will select songs to play for you based on your interaction with the music and its respective properties like melody, rhythm, and lyric qualities.

Now, users can choose more specifically how their music is selected via five new streaming algorithms: "Crowd Faves," "Discovery," "Artist Only," "Deep Cuts," and "Newly Released."

The Crowd Faves option will play you songs within the station that are most frequently "thumbed-up" by other listeners, Discovery will play you music by artists who aren't typically on that particular station, Artist Only will restrict your listening to songs only by the station artist, Deep Cuts will send you "deeper into the catalog of that station artist/genre," and Newly Released will offer you the newest releases from the station.

The original Pandora music streaming algorithm is now called "My Station" mode.

Pandora Modes are now available on "most" stations for both free and Premium users. – AFP Relaxnews
