Keeping a delicate balance for PR1MA’s success


THE 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) programme has a magic number – 500,000. That is how many “market-quality affordable” homes in urban areas that government-owned Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia has to build for the country’s middle-income group.

Back in 2013, the aim was to reach that figure within five years. It was an ambitious goal considering that between 2011 and 2015, residential units completed in Malaysia totalled about 410,000.
