Putin says pardoned Ukrainian Savchenko on 'humanitarian considerations'

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday he had pardoned jailed Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko on "humanitarian considerations" in the hope that her release will help reduce tension in the Ukraine conflict and avoid new loss of life.
