Chinese student drowns in Meru Raya condominium pool


IPOH: A 17-year-old male student from China drowned in a swimming pool at a condominium in Meru Raya.

A Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said a distress call was made on Saturday (March 15) at about 9.22pm.

The victim is believed to have been a student at an international school in the area.

"He was found drowned in the 1.2m pool," said the spokesperson.

"He was declared dead by the medic team at the site," he added.

"Our team removed the victim from the pool and applied CPR until the medic team arrived," he said.
