KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The remand period of a Sessions Court judge in Selangor, which ended Wednesday (July 24), was extended by five days.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) (operations) deputy chief Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the remand period was extended to Sunday (July 28) to assist investigation into the case involving the release of illegal immigrants.

"The remand period was extended for five more days beginning yesterday," he said on Thursday (July 25).

The 45-year-old judge was detained by the MACC on Monday (July 22).
