Man sought over attempted robbery at moneychanger's outlet

KAJANG: A man is being sought to help shed light into a robbery attempt at a moneychanger's outlet here.

Police are looking for M. Thivagaran (pic), 24, to help them with investigations into Sunday's incident.

The incident saw four men enter the outlet armed with a machete and a metal rod.

There were seven other people at the outlet during the incident, including three employees and a security guard.

"One of suspects climbed over the counter but was stopped in his tracks when the security guard pointed his gun at him," Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussoff said.

The security guard's actions scared the quartet and they fled the scene.

The guard then pursued them but two of the suspects got away on a motorcycle while the other two escaped on foot, leaving their motorcycle behind.

Checks on the abandoned motorcycle revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Kajang.

Police managed to arrest one of the suspects on Monday and are now looking for his three other accomplices.
