TAIPING: Two fishermen pleaded guilty in a Sessions Court here to installing illegal satellite dishes at their Kuala Kurau homes.
Teoh Tian Sim, 52, and Ong Leng Soo, 48, admitted to committing the offence before judge Rohaida Ishak who fined each of them RM4,000.
Teoh, from No 400B, Jalan Pantai, Kuala Kurau, and Ong from house number No 397 in the same area, committed the offence between 11.40am and 10.45am on July 29, 2015.
Both had used communication equipment, including a decoder, low-noise block downconverter (LNB) and a satellite dish, which were not certified.
The offence carries a fine not more than RM100,000, a jail sentence of six months or both.
