21 face jail time over Gang 04 links


GEORGE TOWN: Twenty-one Gang 04 members have been charged in the Sessions Court here for being involved in organised crime.

The men, aged between 17 and 57 years, are accused of being members of the organised criminal group "Geng 04 India Pulau Pinang" between Jan 1, 2015 and July 18 this year.

They were charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code which provides for a jail term of up to 20 years if convicted.

No plea was recorded from all the accused as they are being detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma) 2012.

Sessions Court judge Norsalha Hamzah set Sept 14 for mention.
