Two college students beaten up by 20 others for 'defying orders'

KUALA TERENGGANU: Two male students at a vocational college here were beaten by 20 others because they refused to listen to their orders.

In the 1.30am incident on Tuesday, the two 16-year-olds sustained injuries to their backs and legs.

It is believed that the seniors tied up the duo with blankets before beating them.

"They covered our faces with blankets and beat us up. Then, they left the room but came back and challenged my friend to a fight but he refused," he said, adding that there were three first year students in the room during the incident.

"Only two of us were beaten up," he told reporters at the Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah here on Tuesday night.

He claimed that his friend, who suffered injuries to his back, had lodged a police report at 3.30pm on Tuesday.

When met by reporters, the mother of one of the students said she hoped that serious action would be taken against the seniors for hurting her son.

District police chief ACP Idris Abdul Rafar confirmed the incident. – Bernama
