GELANG PATAH: Lim Kit Siang is being targeted in a series of banners that have been put up by unknown parties here.
At least six banners have been put up at several locations in the area, with phrases that twist the lyrics of English pop songs.
Phrases such as "quit playing games with my votes", "you came in like a wrecking ball", "all you ever did was break our hearts", and "it's been a long way without you my friend, so I'll vote you out when I see you again" can be seen on the banners.
A photo of the Gelang Patah MP appears on all the banners, which are signed off with "Gelang Patah, Patah Hati" (Gelang Patah, Heart Broken).
A resident who wanted to be known only as Chan said that he noticed the banners early Tuesday.
"I do not know who is behind this but he has a sense of humour," he said.
There is talk that the DAP supremo may be contesting a seat in Penang in the next general election, after a check revealed that Lim's voting address is in Kinta Lane, which comes under the Tanjong Parliamentary and Komtar state seats.
