Singer Aliff Aziz expected be released on bail

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Aliff Aziz (pic), who was detained on Friday for allegedly assaulting his wife Bella Astillah at a karaoke centre is set to be released on bail on Saturday.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Chong Kok Sin said the suspect will be released on bail as the investigation on the incident has been completed.

ACP Chong said that the case will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.

It was reported that Bella, who was in confinement after giving birth recently, had gone to the karaoke centre in Taman Shamelin accompanied by her mother at about 4.30pm on Thursday to look for her husband.

However, when she discovered that he was with another woman in one of the karaoke rooms, an argument broke out between the couple.

It is believed that Bella took pictures of Aliff, 26, and the other woman using a smartphone, resulting in a scuffle when the singer tried to grab the phone.

Aliff managed to get hold of the phone and deleted the pictures.

It is believed that the singer stormed out of the room with the other woman, leaving the wife with injuries on her face and knees.

She later received treatment at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre before lodging a police report.

It is learnt that the singer was arrested at about 2am Friday.
